This will be a 7 Day Workshop Teaching the Most Rapid Form of AirCrete Building Known. Come and go as you wish. You are welcome to come sooner and stay and additional 7 days longer if you wish to hang out and get more hands on experience!



What to Bring to the Event:
- Works Gloves & Rubber Gloves
- N or KN-95 Particulate Type Face Mask to protect from cement dust
- Safety Glasses, sun glasses, or Goggles
- Water Bottle or cup with lid
- Closed Toe Shoes
- Wide Brimmed Hat
- Sun-Screen; if you burn easy
- Lotion or Coconut oil to protect & relive dry skin from & Lips
- Water for traveling through the desert (drinking water on site)
- Food
- Chairs to Sit In
- Parts for the foam machine if you wish to build one.
- Tent and easy-up shade if camping. GET LARGE LONG STAKES to resist high winds
- Sun blocking for windows if car camping
What To Expect:
Lodging & Meals is NOT provided, please reserve your lodging as early as possible to ensure a room. See Below. Primitive Camping onsite is free. There is a toilet and drinking water available but not wash water.
Each Day we will start works at 8:30 in the morning and work until noon. Then we will break for lunch. You may prefer to go to the Bad Rabbit Café or a restaurant at Terlingua. Some days may finish sooner and some Later. Foundation and roofing days will likely last until 4 PM or later.
Each Evening After lunch, around 2:00 PM we will meet to cover other topics such as foam wand machine assembly, solar power systems design, battery bank building, sizing & installing Air Conditioning Heat Pump, worm composting flush toilet design, extra. This will end around 4 or 5 PM.
Water Will Be Available. I recommend bringing your favorite foods that do not require refrigeration with you. Consider finding dry goods camping recipes.
Feel Free To Explore The Local Attractions or Return To The Site to participate in the on going work.
You are free to come and go. Just remember this is your workshop and you get out of it in proportion to time & effort you put into it!
Make new friends and contacts, be prepared to build your own home!
This is a new building site and a remote location. The land is "pokey" so watch out for plants that will poke.
Cell Phones do NOT work in the area:
Wifi is available at the Bad Rabbit Lodge and Terlingua Ranch Cabins and onsite. Cellphones do not work in the area! Obtain a free VOPI number or google number and install google voice. This will give you voice over IP phone number on your smart phone. You can make and receive calls as well as text message this way using the WIFI. You MUST activate while your have regular cell phone service.
Weather:
This is the Chihuahuan desert. It can be somewhat unpredictable this time of year! Nights can freeze and days can get hot. It's not likely but it is possible that a little rain can fall. Dress in layers and be prepared!
Clothing:
Wear Clothes You Can Afford To Ruin! In fact, expect to ruin the clothes you wear to the workshop. Dress in layers. Be prepared for hot and cool weather. Wear closed toe shoes to avoid getting poked by thorns and cactus. There are a LOT of sticky and poky plants in the desert! Bring a BIG hat, LIP Balm, & Sun screen. Also safety glassed and gloves!
Lodging:
This is the most busy time of year for this area! The cooler weather brings bikers taking scenic rides, Campers & Tourist to Big Bend National & state parks, Golfers going to the lajitas resort, hunting season, as well as the terlingua international chili championship and bird watchers visiting the Christmas mountain Oasis Lodging can run out fast. The Ghost Town is a fairly long drive. 28'ish miles one way
You are also welcome to Primitive Camp On The Site! We have toilets on site. Showers are available at the Terlingua lodge camp ground about 6 miles away. You may also bring a shower bag to wash up.

If Camping, bring sleeping bags or covers that can keep you warm in the event we get a rare freeze, and consider bringing a battery powered fan to cool you as you sleep or take a rinse-off to get cool fast. Weather is unpredictable during the change of seasons into Spring & out of Fall in this area. NO OPEN FIRES PERMITTED! This is the dry desert after all. You may bring and use a cook stove as long as its gas powered.

Water will be available. Please bring your food and a stove to prepare it. You may want to bring your favorite comfort foods. Bring a closable reusable Water Bottle!
The Terlingua Ranch Lodge has a Restaurant: 6 miles from the site. They also sell ice.
The Terlingua Ghost town has a few places to eat around 36 miles away.
Be prepared. Bring food or buy it in Alpine Tx. There is also a store in Terlingua.
You can buy food at the bad rabbit café 6 miles away or drive 32 miles to Terlingua and eat at a couple different locations.

I can pick you up 1 or more day before the workshop begins, but NOT on the day it starts and I can not return you until the 7 days of the workshop are over. This is a remote destination. You can fly into El Paso Texas International Airport (ELP) or Midland/Odessa (MAF). Midland is a 3.5 hour drive form the event and Elpaso is a 5 hour drive. It is 303 miles from El Paso to Terllingua and 247 Miles from Midland Tx. Most likely you will need to rent a car and drive from the Airport.

Workshop/School Location & Directions
Get Gas in Alpine! There are not gas stations on the way. Gas is available 38 miles from the site. I recommend a 5 gallon can of gas if you plan on driving daily to the restaurant or site seeing.

Go 11.3 miles. You will see a mailbox with LTM under it. This gravel road is your turn. Turn Left here and go 1.9 miles.

Go To The Y/T and turn Left.

Go .4 Miles (4 tenths) and Turn Left. ( onto shipman road, but no signs)
You Will see a sign on the left . Look for small signs pointing the way.

Please click on the map below using your phone and open in google maps. I recommend following the directions above and not the GPS which takes you down cedar springs road! Save this entire area for offline use. This way your GPS will be able to guild you without service!
