Processing the Emotions of Changing Life

The covid-19/Corona lock-down has many people facing themselves for the first time.   Well, at-least those who are not burred in denial watching Netflix or YouTube until they pass out from exhaustion.

With some quite time comes up all the feelings, thoughts, and associated emotions that we have been stuffing away.  This is actually a great thing.  A chance to face and heal our wounds, fears, and doubts.

Now, I want to take a look at two subjects; The grief cycle and taking action where you can actually affect change in your life.

First, the grief cycle:

When things change we are often faced with a stress and feelings of loss.  This can even happen to someone willingly stepping off-grid.  We miss the familiar like a drug.  In-fact, it is a chemical response generated within our bodies to emotions generated from thoughts which we feel an urge to return to the way it was in the past.  There is no need to place blame or feel guilty.  It is so very healthy and important that we feel these feelings and re-frame the thoughts and choose better thoughts because thoughts leed emotions.  If we keep thinking the thoughts of the past we will keep having the same emotions and these emotions encourage us to look forward and think about having more of the same.  It is very much like an addiction.

So, give your self permission to feel the way to you do it is ok!  What is NOT ok is to get stuck in these feelings.  We start by ignoring or denying the changes and this sometimes comes with confusion, fear, avoiding thinking about the issue.  Then we progress to anger, frustration, irritation, anxiety.  These feelings are improvement and better than fear, denial, and avoidance.  Still better yet is the progressing to telling the story and struggling to find meaning.  At some point we may collapse into depression, feeling helpless or want to fight.  Finally we come to accept it as it is and begin to look for options and make new plans.

The important thing is that you keep moving through these.  Do not resist!  Do Not Judge!  Do Not get stuck!  Keep moving forward.  Very often its enough to recognize where you are in this cycle and that its ok to feel the way you do.. For a time..  There is no defined time frame to move through this.  However, it also dose not require more than a few minuets to progress through the cycle once you get practiced.

Two: taking action where you can actually affect change in your life

So the big question is what do you actually have control of in your life?  If you want your life to change then things are going to have to change. Do not waste time thinking about anything you can not directly control like politics or other people.  Usually the only thing you can change is yourself and the circumstances of your life.  It is important to not deceive your self with anything including "I cant leave my job, not pay for my loan, or move to the unknown"  You absolutely can!  Take some time to reflect on what you can change.

Of-Course, I teach people to build their own alternative off-grid house for $26 per square foot.  This is one of the biggest changes you could ever do in your life.  Get away from excessive gov and life free without debt!  Click here to see a course that teaches you every step of building an alternative off-Grid AirCrete tiny house.  All the other changes you will need to decide for your self!  I also recommend expanding your awareness the reading books, audio books, taking seminars, and online courses.  Always expand your mind.  Often to solve a problem you must get outside the conscience that created the problem.  If your mind, knowledge, or meditation is limited then your choices are limited.
